I will do a "Jazz review" soon, (I'm in the process of writing it in MSWord as I'd be gutted to write it and loose it!) so to keep you all amused in the meantime, here is a meme that I have been tagged for by the lovely Ruth
1. What do you hope to accomplish with your blog?
Originally, the idea was just to allow friends to keep up with me, as I had gotten a bit bad with emails, and then would find that I was writing the same mthings over and over again. However, I have since found that I love writing and sharing experiences, so it is as much for my benefit as for the benefit of others, and I have made some lovely friends. I am really honoured to be part of the "Blogging Community"
2. Are you a spiritual person?
I went to a Catholic school from the age of 8 to 18, and the spiritual side of the school meant a huge amount to me as a teenager. I loved the warmth of the community and the amazing feeling of peace and "being centered" in the quiet areas of the school. As I have grown up I would say that I definitely still believe in God, though in reality not in religion (If that makes sense). I still find a church or cathedral an amazingly peaceful place to be. I believe that something other than science gives a person soul and personality, and that same something can make the most breathtaking natural scenes ... I believe that the world was made with love. I believe in nature, love and emotion and I believe that people should be aware of the heartsong as well as their headthoughts, I think that all of those are spiritual in essence.
3. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want to have with you?
hmmmm being a person who tends to think of meal times before anything else I would have to say
a hen and a rooster so I always have food (does that count as one or two??)
a packet of veg seeds
(and if the first one is only one and I get another go, then I'd say a container to boil water in - saucepan or some such)
I'd also like to say that I'd (obviously) give all those up if I could just have Mr Noo - not only 'cos I love him to bits, but also 'cos he's so practical we'd manage to make everything with what was around (not quite so practical myself!!!!!!!)
4. What's your favorite childhood memory?
I have a terrible memory for childhood things...... and it's heightened by the fact that my sister has an astounding memory of our childhood. (I'm struggling here) Probably my favourite memory is performing in our school orchestra concerts. I learnt the flute at school, and was never particulary great, just adequate! I joined the orchestra when I got into the senior school at the age of 12 and stayed to the bitter end when I left school at 18, (the longest serving orchestra member for many years). I used to feel a huge personal sense of achievement after a concert because a) I wasn't really that good, and b) because I was quite shy, so to stand on stage (especially if I had a solo) was a really big deal for me, I got so much encouragement from the staff and a huge rush of adrenalin when I'd finished!!! So all in all I'd say that whole package is my favourite memory.
5. Is this your first meme?
No I've done a few others, but I love these ones that give you the chance to write about something out of the ordinary.
Now who to tag???
Piglottie, because there's a question or two in there that I'm interested in your answer to!!!
Jacquie, because you're a clever sort of a gal, and I'd like to know what you'd take to a desert island.
Seahorse, & Lottie because it's always good to get to know people better!!!
As ever don't feel pressured.... only do it if you fancy it!
