Thoroughly hacked off!!!!!

I don't like to moan...... I can be a moaning old biddy at times, but I like to keep my blog carefree and peaceful. But I have a major whinge to air.

I have been training HARD for the race for life (at least it feels pretty hard) I have studiously increased my jogging times and decreased my walking intervals as per the recommended timetable, training 3 times a week including once with my sis.... and it is HARD! (Are you getting the picture of how HARD it really is :-) ?) This week we (my sis and I) started week 5 on Sunday which was alternating 5 mins jogging and 3 mins walking 3 times. I failed miserably at the first 5 mins jog but managed the rest, so today had planned to re-do that repeat (Mostly because the next one encompasses an 8 mins jog which I know I'm not ready for)..... well I was here deciding to go out and MrNoo said he would come with me. I should say that I bought him a pair of running trainers for Christmas which I never expected to see used. Anyone who knows MrNoo will know that he is not of an athletic build, and neither is he what you would call "fit" !!! Great, thought I... i can have a fairly easy time of it and just concentrate on improving my breathing and not worry too much about length of runs... more on quality!!! Knowing that when i started I could barely jog a minute, I expected a similar maybe slightly better show from him......

Well, how wrong can a person be? He barely broke a sweat and I had to give up before him every single jog..... I am miffed..... nay heartbroken......... (to say nothing of knackered, breathless, half-dead, red-faced and sweating like an animal!). I have trained for 2 months and he comes out the first time ever and squarely shows me how it's done. Bless him, he was gracious and commented that he did used to run cross country (30 years ago!) But i am a little demurred to say the least! The only good side to this is that I now realise I have a permanent training buddy..... and my beloved man who has been supporting me from the sidelines all this time has no excuse whatsoever for not joining in and helping me on my way!!!

See there's a silver lining to every cloud!! :-)

The writing on the wall.

.............. Otherwise known as Graffiti!!! (OhMyGosh I'm so witty sometimes!)

This has taken ages to finish as the first zip I bought was far too bright a green - luckily I had had the forethought to buy a shade card at the same time, so it was just a matter of getting around to ordering the new one and waiting for it. It's the first time I've ever put a zip in, and I'm reasonably happy with it. For any other newbie zipputterinners out there, it may be better to choose something a touch sturdier than the DB Merino which I used (which incidentally is beautifully soft, but a bit slippy for first time zippers). Does anyone else think the pockets are way out of line too???? Hopefully that's just the way I've put it on!

I haven't put the zip in the hood yet (as you can see!! ) But needed to take the opportunity of having Mr Noo here to take the photos.
So the boring stuff:
Pattern: Graffiti Hoodie for Artesano Hummingbird (DK)
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Merino DK
Needles: Boyes needlemaster US6
Zips: From Zipperstop
