It's fairy time

My first window quilt is complete. It has taken ages, and i've learnt many lessons along the way - but isn't that always the way with crafting, there's never a time when you don't think "I could've done that better" or "next time......." but that's part of the fun. I 'm really happy with the way this looks despite there being areas for improvement, so all is good.

I have two more to complete. And when they're done they will be hung, during the winter, in my conservatory to keep the drafts out, and the heat in!

Race for life for Cancer Research UK - open for registration

My blog has turned pink(ish) as yesterday the registrations opened for Raceforlife  I have done this 5km run for the past 4 years, in all kinds of June weather (including hail one year - that was a blast!)  And will be doing it again this year.

If you are a woman and there is any way you can think about running, walking, or crawling 5km, please think about signing up for a local race.

The first person to comment below (on my blog, not on facebook!) with a link to their sponsor page for this year will get a £10 sponsor from me - just for registering! - Go on, make this year your year!

(My sponsorship page will be added soon with a little clickable widget to sponsor me, but I just need to check who else might be joining me this year, and which day is best as they do two in Guildford)

Destash - episode 1 of 12 (I hope)

So, Here is the completed project from my personal sock club parcel for January. How cheerful are they?
Posted by Picasa  So I get my first gold star on the CTnY Forum challenge (which is a challenge to do 12 of anything you like in 2011! - some people are finishing WIP's, some using stash - I'm doing a 12 month personal sock club) - I'm not sure i've ever got a gold star before! ;)

The year of the decreasing stash

I've always maintained that i don't have stash - I lie!  I have 14 complete balls of sock yarn, and untold leftovers (which I won't throw away because I am sure they will make "something") and a few other bits besides! It's not a huge stash by any means, but it is considerably more than I thought I had so I want to get it down to hardly any again. So this year I have already parcelled up 12 packages of sock yarn and pattern for a personal sock club.

Here is January's
Unique Sheep Comany Tinsel toes. Bought on the forum at an exceptionally bargainous price, and now destined to be some socks called singing in the rain. - They look like they will brighten up the winter blues don't they.

I made it out alive!

Well I escaped the room of crap in time to celebrate the New Year. And starting it with a somewhat clearer house feels good.

I now have some sewing to finish, and plenty of knitting to do. - How will I ever fit in time to work?!

So for today I will just wish you all a Happy New Year, and I hope it is a good one for you all.

Noo xx
